The launch is the hard part... I hope?

When getting something this dense up and running, one has a choice. Either go all in and get it as set up as you can and hope you can flesh it out as strongly as you would like. Or, and this is where most people would probably choose to take a different path than I did, you set up a bare-bones operation and work on slowly adding things as you get them. Here's the thing, friends. I have a bonkers attention span. I am either all in on something, or struggling to settle down amid a bunch of different things pulling for my focus. Which is to say, I have ADHD, and I don't have much control over what I am paying attention to without the involvement of a tremendous act of will.
And so here I am, launching a full website (or as full as I can get it) instead of a page with more pages added over time as we go. I just don't have it in me to take this step by step. I'm going for a strong skeletal launch, after which we can watch the content get stronger as we go.
It's been a long time since I put time into creating things for my pleasure, creating fine art as it were.  So as I get this launch officially up and running, I'm going to share with you some old things that I made while I work on developing new content. I mean if you think about it, it's not such a bad idea for us to get acquainted, anyway.
To that end, here is something for us to get acquainted over. This is a coloring page I created as part of a larger collab project between myself and a friend as she worked through a tough situation. It's my friend, her kids, and I, the adults striking samurai poses while holding cups of coffee instead of swords in the style of a comic book cover, except, you know, without the sex appeal.  The piece is attached here as a PDF, so you could download and color the damn thing if you want, and hell, if that's a road you want to go down, I really hope you choose to send me a pic of your work. I'd happily share it in the blog.
This is a dorky superhero tribute to the sisterhood that is created when women stand together to face issues that primarily effect women as a demographic. I identify as a cisgender straight woman, but this is a piece I created in part to speak to the unmatchable intimacy that exists in the friendships between women, and the strengths of women who choose to stand together when embattled.
I'm not going to get into the details of the reality that inspired the project, but here's the Wonder Woman book quote that helped shape my visual narrative. Because it's not about wielding weapons against another; it's about being each other's best defense.
“Sisters in battle, I am shield and blade to you. As I breathe, your enemies will know no sanctuary. While I live, your cause is mine.” ― Leigh Bardugo, Wonder Woman: Warbringer

Sometimes I make things. When I do make things in the future, it's my intention to share them here.
