I've worked for a decade in education; worked in private parochial as well as public and charter schools; and taught grades pre-K-12 in Library Media Studies, Visual Art, English, Reading, Journalism, APLang, and Health. Every student was an honor to teach, and their creations and accomplishments always gratifying. But as cool as it is to watch the kiddos produce dope stuff, sometimes it's nice to make things for yourself. That's why Glyphs exists.
Glyphs is the place where I'll be posting my rants, reviews, and recommended material as well as creative works I produce. It's part sketch journal, part rough draft folder, and part exercise in mental health. And if you're new to my antics, be forewarned that interactions can get real political, so you might want to consider if this is a road you want to go down with me.
Currently, I'm working as a freelance consultant on an Indigenous curriculum design project for K-12, with providing professional development in curriculum implementation, and providing curricular copywriting.
And for a personal note: My literary boyfriends are Daniel Pinkwater, Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, Jorge Luis Borges, and Italo Calvino. I haven't enjoyed Game of Thrones since the death of Oberyn Martell. I like gardening and hiking with my dog more than almost any social event. I despise Rupi Kaur and the band Rush to an equal degree.
